Privacy Policy — Live For Cause Foundation & Project NONU

Last updated: 15 Oct 2025

Live For Cause Foundation ("LFCF", "we", "us") operates programs including Project NONU. This Policy explains how we handle personal data across our websites (projectnonu.org, liveforcause.org), forms, events, calls, emails, WhatsApp/SMS, and other interactions. If anything is unclear, contact pr@liveforcause.org or +91 90376 07807.

1) Scope & Roles

Applies to all LFCF programs and both online/offline collection.

Therapy services may be provided by independent licensed professionals ("Therapists"). We share only what's necessary to deliver services. Therapists may maintain their own records and notices.

2) What We Collect

We collect the minimum data needed for our services:

Identifiers & contact: name, phone/WhatsApp, email, city, age/date of birth, role/company, student verification.

Service info: intake responses, preferences (language, timing, therapist gender/specialization), goals.

Transactions & support: bookings, invoices, confirmations, attendance, feedback, helpdesk logs.

Online data: IP, device/browser, pages viewed, campaign/UTM metadata, cookies or similar tech (see §7).

Sensitive data: you may share wellness-related information; we process such data with your consent and limit use to service delivery, quality assurance, and legal compliance.

Minors: our services target 18+. For under-18 programs, we require verifiable parental/guardian consent.

3) Why We Use Your Data (Purposes)

Service delivery: match and schedule, coordinate sessions/events, provide resources and reminders.

Bookings & payments: manage registrations, receipts, refunds, and support.

Communication: send essential updates; with consent, send program news and opportunities.

Improvement & research: quality assurance, training, statistics and impact reports, using de-identified/aggregated data wherever possible.

Safety & legal: prevent misuse, enforce terms, comply with law and lawful requests.

4) Lawful Bases

We rely on one or more of the following: consent, performance of a contract/service, legitimate interests (e.g., program improvement, fraud prevention, basic analytics) balanced with your rights, and legal obligations (accounting, taxation, compliance).

5) Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We may share with:

• Therapists/clinical partners to deliver services you request.

• Service providers (hosting, communications, analytics, booking/payment, support) acting on our instructions under confidentiality and security obligations.

• Affiliated LFCF programs for administration where necessary.

• Authorities or legal recipients where required by law or to protect vital interests.

If LFCF reorganizes or forms a related entity to deliver similar programs, data may transfer under this Policy with equivalent protections.

6) International Transfers

Service providers may process data outside your country. We implement appropriate safeguards (contractual clauses, access controls, encryption) to ensure comparable protection.

7) Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use essential cookies and similar tech to operate the site, remember preferences, measure traffic and campaign performance, and improve content. You can control cookies via browser settings. Where required, we seek consent before setting non-essential cookies.

8) Retention

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes in §3 or as required by law, then delete or anonymize it. General guidelines:

Active service records: retained for the period of engagement and a reasonable time afterward for queries or follow-ups.

Financial/transaction records: retained as per legal obligations (often up to 8 years or longer under Indian law).

Marketing data: retained until you opt out or after a reasonable period of inactivity.

De-identified/aggregated data: may be retained indefinitely for statistics and program reporting.

Where deletion isn't immediately feasible (e.g., encrypted backups), data is securely stored and isolated until deletion.

9) Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures—role-based access, encryption in transit, vendor due diligence, staff training, and incident response. No system is perfectly secure; if we detect a breach posing risk, we'll take appropriate steps and notify you/authorities where required.

10) Your Rights

Subject to applicable law (including India's DPDP Act, 2023, and, where relevant, GDPR):

Access your data; correct inaccuracies; delete data (subject to legal/contractual limits); withdraw consent; object/restrict certain processing; and data portability where applicable.

You may opt out of marketing anytime via unsubscribe links or by replying STOP on WhatsApp/SMS.

To exercise rights, email pr@liveforcause.org with the subject "Privacy Request". We may verify identity and respond within legal timelines. You may nominate another person to act on your behalf where permitted by law.

11) Messaging Consent

By providing a phone number, you authorize us to contact you via call, SMS, or WhatsApp for service communications and—if you opt in—program updates. You can opt out at any time (reply STOP or email us).

12) Third-Party Sites

Links to ticketing, payment, or social platforms are governed by their own privacy policies. Review those policies before submitting data to them.

13) Children & Vulnerable Persons

For participants under 18, we require parental/guardian consent and apply heightened safeguards. If you believe a minor provided data without consent, contact us to address it.

14) Changes

We may update this Policy to reflect operational or legal changes. The "Last updated" date shows the effective version. Material changes will be highlighted on this page or via reasonable notice.

15) Region-Specific Notices

India (DPDP Act, 2023): LFCF acts as a Data Fiduciary for personal data processed in India. You have a right to grievance redressal and, where applicable, to nominate an alternate contact.

EEA/UK (GDPR): Where GDPR applies, LFCF is a controller for website and program administration; individual Therapists may be independent controllers for their clinical records. You can lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
